The Show Cat's Lament
( to the tune of Hee Haw's "Gloom" song )
( with sad "meows" where they do groans )
CHORUS:
Gloom, Despair and Agony on me. (Me-ow!)
Deep dark Depression, Excessive Misery. (Ruo-o-ow!)
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. (Mur-e-oo-ow!)
Gloom, Despair and Agony on me.

Minding my own business, just running 'round the room.
Pausing every now and then to give my coat a groom.
They grab me and shove me in this teeny tiny box.
Then put it a car where it rolls and rocks.

CHORUS:
Gloom, Despair and Agony on me. (Me-ow!)
Deep dark Depression, Excessive Misery. (Ruo-o-ow!)
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. (Mur-e-oo-ow!)
Gloom, Despair and Agony on me.

Thus the journey does begin, it is two hours long.
That will give me lots of time to practice my own song.
I know they won't let me out 'til we reach the cat show hall.
Until then they will hear me sing and give my caterwaul.

CHORUS:
Gloom, Despair and Agony on me. (Me-ow!)
Deep dark Depression, Excessive Misery. (Ruo-o-ow!)
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. (Mur-e-oo-ow!)
Gloom, Despair and Agony on me.

Eighteen hours a day is what I like to sleep,
But here at the cat show I'll get nary a peep.
Every time I close my eyes they pick me up again,
And take me to a judging ring where I'm supposed to win.

CHORUS:
Gloom, Despair and Agony on me. (Me-ow!)
Deep dark Depression, Excessive Misery. (Ruo-o-ow!)
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. (Mur-e-oo-ow!)
Gloom, Despair and Agony on me.
