Christmas Toast
Christmas comes but once a year,
So lift with me a glass of cheer.
There's so much to be thankful for.
If you've not enough, I'll tell you more.

We've Judges and Cats, and a Kitten or two.
They came to compete, and they brought you.
You brought your cookies to share with us all.
They are on the long table against the wall.

Your cats like the toys you hang on the tree,
The tinsel and lights and the balls that roll free.
But make sure that you put some catnip in one.
If they eat the tinsel, then you'll be undone.

But Christmas is also a time to recall
Your family that isn't here in the hall.
Perhaps they're deployed or in school, or just away.
They likely have a phone or can get email today.

Christmas comes but once, they say.
But blessings are for everyday.
So call your kin and let them hear,
You've raised for them a glass of cheer.
