Cat Show in Arcadia
( to the Eagles tune: Hotel California )
On the quiet 210 freeway,
driving early to get there.
Warm smell of my mocha,
rising up through the air.
Up ahead in the distance,
I see the exit to take.
I drive on slowly 'till I park the car,
And all my kittens come awake

A crowd was at the entrance
Their cats were good, I could tell.
And I was thinking to myself,
"We could do badly, or we could do well."
Then she looked up my entry
and she told me "Aisle A."
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the cat show in Arcadia.
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
	For your benching space.
Plenty of shows at the lodge here in Arcadia.
Any time of year (Any time of year)
	You can find one here.

If there's a raffle, buy some tickets.
If there's a cat out, close the door.
Such a lot of pretty, pretty kittens
They keep bringing even more.
How they play for the judges,
all very nice.
Some play with the wand toys,
some play with the mice.

So I asked at the Kitchen,
"Please pour me some wine."
They said, "if you drank that spirit here,
you'd pay a hefty fine."
And still those voices are calling
from far away.
Woke me up in the middle of my nap
Just to hear them say...

Welcome to the cat show in Arcadia.
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
	For the feline race.
We're livin' it up at the cat show in Arcadia.
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)
	Is the raffle prize.

Vendors in the hallway,
supreme party by the wall.
Then he said "Entry 2 6 3,
this is your second call."
And in the judge's final,
I am gathered with the rest.
We watch eagerly as one by one
We discover who'll be best.

For me the show was over
Once I'd finished in ring four.
I packed up my cage and cover
And I headed for the door.
"Before you go", said the Announcer
"I know I'll see you here again."
"You'll be at another Cat show,"
"Hoping to top the judge's ten."

Welcome to the cat show in Arcadia.
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
	Is our cat show space.
So have yourself a very Merry Christmas.
'Till we see you here ('till we see you here)
For a brand new year ....
