It's Been a Hairball Day

Your cat likes to stay very clean,
It'll lick it fur, then purr and preen,
Then strut around to show it's the best
And classier by far than all the rest.

But wait, what's this? A Gastric urge.
The belly clinches and tries to purge
A lump of fur and goo and who knows what.
There it is in the hallway, steaming hot.

Early this morning with blearing eyes,
You wanted coffee, but got a surprise.
Your cat just smiled and walked away.
For this is Hairball Appreciation Day.
