[5 strand turkshead]
Five strand turkshead with three passes.
The five strand turkshead is the most difficult of the turksheads I tie on a regular basis.  When I was about ten, my father showed me the knot and chalenged me to learn it on my own.  I finally learned how to tie it when I was in the Coast Guard ten years later.

[Gold and Silver Long Weave Turkshead]
Long Weave turkshead with three passes and made with a  twisted wire center pass  (yellow gold and white gold).
This knot is actually a five strand turkshead but the weave traveles over two and under two.  (All the rest of the turkheads shown on these pages are woven over and under.)  This over two and under two makes for a smoother flow to the design.

Michele's and my wedding bands are Long Weave turksheads in 18K yellow gold.

[Earring Turksheads]
Long weave turksheads with two passes.

This design lends itself well to both rings and earrings.

Five Strand Herringbone Weave Turkshead
The Latest!  When teaching myself to tie Seven Strand Turksheads, I discovered that there were THREE ways to tie a Five Strand Turkshead.  Up until now, I've only been weaving two types, the regular Five Strand Short Weave and the Five Strand Long Weave.  Here is my first knot of the third type: 28 July 2002

Thank you.
