The purpose of this page is to assist in testing whether you have one of the Cherokee fonts loaded on your system. Here is a quick chart to see which ones you have loaded. The top row uses small GIF files for the three sample words. Each following row uses the named font to try and display the same word. If it looks wrong, then you don't have that font loaded. If it looks right, then you do have that font loaded.
Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator don't always handle all the same fonts. So even though you have a font installed on your system, it may not be available to your browser. In the left column, I show (available) or (not available) which is this page's best guess for your system. The ultimate test, however, is whether the right three columns "look" right to you.

At least one of these fonts must be installed on your system for you to be able to print Cherokee syllabary.

NOTE 1: Actually, any UNICODE font that includes the Cherokee range. ( 5024 - 5119 decimal ) ( 0x13A0 - 0x13F4 hex ) Files must be saved as UNICODE, UTF-16, UTF-16BE, or UTF-8, not as ANSI. SC Unipad is a unicode editor, as is NOTEPAD, though NOTEPAD gives you no assistance with Entering UNICODE, it will properly Display UNICODE files.
NOTE 2: Jo LoCicero's "Cherokee" font and the Official "Cherokee" font use the same font face name. That means you can only have one or the other of those loaded in your system at the same time.
NOTE 3: Jo LoCicero's "Cherokee" font, Jim Hicks' "Cher_Sound" font, António Martins' "Cherokee Arial" font and Kenneth Hirst's "Sequoyah" font use the same keyboard layout. So far, all other fonts I have located have their own unique keyboard layout; UNICODE fonts don't have a keyboard layout.
NOTE 4: If you have the "TsaliText" font, you may also have the "TsaliIntertext" font. The vowel "O" in the "TsaliIntertext" font Happens to be the soft-hyphen code . Therefore the browser will likely not print it properly. This font is actually intended to be used with programs like LaTEx, not in browsers. The TsaliIntertext font starts the syllabary a == ª == ª and works the syllabary chart's 85 symbols left to right, top to bottom to end at yv == þ == þ.
NOTE 5: In the Cherokee Arial font, There are the following errors:
I have sent a note to the Font Author (António Martins) and when a new version of the Cherokee Arial font is available, I'll update this page.
An eMail concerning any errors on this page would be appreciated.
